A little bit of Versailles for your tabletop—these rare antique French brass and porcelain candle stands date back to the 1910s. Made of porcelain and assembled in four parts (because back then, even candle holders had layers), they bring the drama with ornate brass scrollwork, a rich cobalt blue porcelain base, and a stance so confident it might as well demand a château of its own.
We think of them as the kind of thing you’d find in a dimly lit Parisian salon, where philosophers sipped absinthe and debated existentialism (or just gossiped about their neighbours). Sourced from a British collector who originally bought them in France, these beauties made their way through history before landing at the Epsom Antiques Fair, where they were snapped up for a very high value—because some things are worth the splurge. Place them on your dining table, and suddenly, your cheese board feels très important.
